Alissa over at Handmade by Alissa recently blogged about quilters throughout the country starting up local branches of the Modern Quilt Guild that she helped found in L.A. I’ve been looking for modern quilters in the DFW area so of course I volunteered to start up the Dallas branch. You can sign up here. The guild will be focused on modern quilting techniques and fabrics. I’m thinking we’ll have workshops, swaps, bees, and maybe even some field trips. Quilters of all levels of experience are welcome. I hope all of my DFW readers will join!

I’m so very intrigued! I just finished my very first quilt tops and am starting on the backs. They’re modern and fun, and this little guild might be up my alley. Will you meet as a group, or will this be “virtual”? I’m looking forward to finding out a few details if you’d like to email me. Thanks!
